Knob Hill School

Margaret A. Knapp

I’m a one room country school house

Nestled on Knob Hill,

I’ve stood here now these many years

But children come here still

To learn the rules of reading,

Writing, arithmetic, and then

The problems of democracy

And freedom for all men.

I’m "town hall" of the country

That’s what the folks all say

And when they meet here now they plan

To serve in every way.

They’ll help to save our country

They’ll turn in all their scrap

Help blot out Hitlerism

Mussolini and the Jap.
