Riley Doore, 82 passed away Saturday at Lake Cachuma, Calif., Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 7, at 2:00 p.m. from the Lowry Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Kienitz of the Evangelical Church of North America officiating. Miss Debbie Lowry, organist, accompanied Mrs. A. Ron McDonnell and Mrs. William Cremer, Jr., in selections, "Beyond The Sunset," and "How Great Thou Art." Pall bearers were Thorvald Anderson, Lloyd Rein, Borddie Green, Ralph Prather, Tosten Stenberg, and Stan Hanson.
Military ceremonies were held in Mountain View Cemetery with G. O. Schulz, Harold Boe, Karl Bryan and Tink Voges comprising the color guard. The firing squad members were Herb McCauley, Commander; Sox Ullman, Bud Clayton, K. C. Jones, Jim Esp, Ray Bieber and Tom Morgan. Karl Bryan served as Chaplain with Forest Keller, bugler.
Mr. Doore was born September 28, 1889 at Bertha, Minnesota and came to Melville, Montana in 1910. He served with the US Army during World War I. On September 24, 1910 he married Anna Cooper at Melville, Mont. He had worked as a ranch hand in the Melville area for many years and had lived in Santa Monica, Calif., for the past 24 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean in 1930.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Doore, Santa Monica, Cal.; a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Wilson, Santa Monica, Calif.; a grandson, Lester Wilson, Santa Monica, Calif., and a great granddaughter.
