Thelma Brannin Pelletier of Ventura, California passed away September 11, 1999.
Thelma, the daughter of the late Sheriff Ed and Mrs. Dora Brannin, was born May 31, 1913 at her father's homestead on Section 30, Sweet Grass Canyon.
She attended local schools, including the Basin School, Big Timber Public School, and Sweet Grass County High School.
Thelma spent many years in the Los Angeles area where she was employed by the Los Angeles Times, retiring after 25 years of service. At the Times, she was in charge of aircraft related industry accounts in the classified department, winning prestigious awards for her work. Following her retirement, she resided for over ten years in the Ventura Town House where she was active in various programs, including responsibility for arranging for vesper services for the guests there.
Thelma was a frequent visitor to the Sweet Grass County area, visiting not only her parents but also her brothers, Jim Brannin and Lewis "Buddy" Brannin, as well as other relatives in the area. Her parents and her brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Peterson of Ventura; a granddaughter, Tracey Peterson of Canyon Country, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family plans for final interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Big Timber.
