Mrs. Grant Robinson
Died at her residence at Lockridge, Okla., January 11, 1911, at 6:15 a.m. Mrs. Sarah Ann Brewer Robinson, age 59 years, 11 months, 10 days. She was born near Athens, Ohio, Feb. 1, 1851. Was married to H. H. McNiel at the age of 18 years. She became identified with the Methodist church at early age. Removed from *Ohio to Kansas in 1898 where she underwent all the hardships of pioneer life. In 1889 she came to Oklahoma and settled on a homestead near this place where she has since resided. Coming to this country a widow with a family of small children, her lot was hard one, and in rearing her family was always found faithful to her trust. She was married to Grant Robinson, May 13, 1892, and in general has enjoyed good health. Endowed with a sunny disposition she has always cast a ray of sunshine into the hearts of those around her. It is hard to part with one so willing, so gentle and so loveable; but He who giveth has taken away, and what is our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves a husband, who is heartbroken at her sudden and untimely death. She also leaves four sons, Preston and Claud McNiel of this place, Al and Lee McNiel, of Ponca City, Grant C. Robinson, Jr., a boy in his teens, who will be deprived of a mother’s loving care! She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Florence Knapp, of this place, who in this death loses her adviser, helper, friend and mother. She also leaves three stepdaughters, Myrtle, Pansy and Grace, and one stepson, Bert Robinson, of Center, Colo., who mourn their loss of a true and faithful mother. She leaves ten grandchildren, all living near her who love her as children only can. She also leaves and old widowed mother, nearing her 90th birthday. Four brothers, D. J. F. Brewer, of Minneapolis, Kan; Prof. C. F. Brewer, of Independence, Kan; Dr. E. E. Brewer, of Beloit, Kan; Dr. Tom Brewer, of Lawton, Ok. She leaves one sister, Mrs. T. A. Blades, of Brewer, Kan. One brother and one sister has gone before. A. O. Brewer, two years her junior, was killed by lightning at Prestonburg, Wis., in 1882, and Rose Brewer Hollis died of fever at Saltville, Kan., in 1883. She leaves a host of friends to mourn her earthly departure.
Dear wife, fond mother and friend,Thou art gone before
In the life to come we will meet once more,
Across the mists of the dark, dark sea,
To the golden shores where you wait for me
All free from sorrow and care and bain,
We measure our loss with your eternal gain.
The good you have done will shine, shine on,
Thru the ages to come on those left alone.
And one by one we will come to thee,
Across the mists of the dark, dark sea.
We honor thy memory,
Thine acts with applaud
And commend thy soul to your Creator and God.
