Samuel Barr
March 8, 1796 - July 25, 1878
BARR - In Roulet, July 25th, 1878, Rev. Samuel Barr, aged 82 years, 4 months and 17 days.
Mr. Barr was born in Dutchess county, N. Y., and when he was nine years old his father moved to Cortland county, and died shortly after,
leaving him with a widowed mother, who received his kindest care as long as she lived. He lived in Cortland county eleven years, then removed to Broome. He moved on to his farm in Roulet, thirty-one years ago last February, where he has resided ever since, except about two years when he lived in Bingham. He served in the war of 1812-14 and received a pension in his last years. He lived a devout and consistent christian, respected by all who knew him, and is mourned by a large circle or relatives and friends.
