KNAPP - Near Edmond, O. T., on Monday, July 31, 1893, Mrs. Hannah Knapp aged 72 years, 10 months and 21 days.

The deceased was born in New York, September 10, 1820, and in 1841 was married to W. H. Knapp.  To them were born nine children, two of whom are dead, the others are Mrs. Minnie Smith who resides in Minnesota, M. W. and Eli Knapp of Stella, Mrs. Mollie Harding of Nemaha county, Mrs. Frances Bocock of Oklahoma, R. H. Knapp of Burr, Neb., and Charles Knapp of Oklahoma.

Mr. and Mrs. Knapp came to Nebraska twenty-three years ago and located at Nemaha City and ten years ago moved to the farm near Stella, where the husband and father died in February, 1887.  A year or two previously Mrs. Knapp was stricken with blindness and remained so until death.  A year ago this month she went to Oklahoma and made her home with her children there.

Mrs. Knapp's father was a Baptist minister and she was baptized in that faith at the early age of fifteen.  She was well known and highly respected as a good wife and loving mother.  We extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved children.  The remains were brought to this place on Thursday, August 3, and after the funeral, Rev. Hollgreve officiating, they were laid to rest beside her husband in the cemetery south-east of town.
