Immigration date:  probably late 1640's.  Pat. Q.71

John Brewer demands 550 a. viz 150 a. by Puddington - assignment, also for transporting Mr. Joseph Proffitt and Elizabeth his wife and Rachel his daughter around 1652.  Philip Alensby around 1657 and 50 a. more by hardship grant having completed his service.  Date of grant 23 July 1658.

Brewer purchased 150 a. near South River from John Collier, late of Balto. Co., "during his lifetime" according to petition of son in 1677. (Pat. 19.615)

 

wife - Elizabeth (patents 7.452-3) 1664 - granted 640 a., Widows Chance, Talbot Co., head of Wye River, relict of John Brewer, deceased, warrant formerly granted her husband.

John Brewer - arrived as indentured servant, free by 1658 when he claimed rights for completion of his service and for transporting 3 individuals in 1652 & a fourth in 1657.

 

Elected 1661 to 1 term in the Assembly as Burgess.  Acreage while Burgess - 400.

Occupation while Burgess - planter.
