Will of Lydia A. Gleason McNeil
April 12, 1828 – December 27, 1891
In the name of the benevolent Father of All, I Lydia A. McNeil of the township of
Carthage, in the county of Athens, and state of Ohio being of sound mind and memory, do
make this my last Will and Testament. First, I give my body to the earth, from whence it
came, and my Soul to God who gave it. And of my earthly goods, I give and bequeath to
my son Hiram H. McNeil one hundred dollars, to be paid to him or his heirs, one year after
my death. And I give and bequeath to my son Perry P. McNeil all my real estate lying in
Sec. 34, Town 5 (Carthage Tp.) Range 12, in the Ohio Company’s Purchase. I also give
to my son Perry P. McNeil all my personal property and affects of every kind. And the
said Perry P. McNeil is to pay all my just debts, and funeral expenses.
In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 4th day of June in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.
