Sister Knapp

Dec. 30, 1894 – April 14, 1896

Florence McNeil Knapp wrote this or had it

in relation to Little Sister’s death

Her tombstone inscription reads: KNAPP, Little Sister, daughter of C. & F.

"Sweetly Sleep"

buried at Christner Cemetery

Kingfisher, Kingfisher Co., Oklahoma

Her little face is missing now

Her voice forever still

Her little clothes are all layed by

But it was God’s Holy Will.

We layed her on the hillside

In a little narrow bed

And now our little darling

Is numbered with the dead.

Her little soul has soared away

To her everlasting home

And now she is an angel

In His bright and happy home.

Little Sister died the 14th of April 1896

At half past 3 O’clock. She was 15 months and

14 days old.

A bud the Gardener gave us,

A pure and lovely child,

He gave it to our keeping

To cherish undefiled;

But just as it was opening

To the glory of the day

Down came the Heavenly Gardener

And took our child away.
