Agnes Dykhuizen

    Mrs. Agnes Dykhuizen of Morrison passed away at the Morrison Public Hospital Wednesday afternoon at 2:18, after an illness of about three years.  For the last four and half months she had been bedfast at the hospital.

   She was born in Province, Netherlands, in the year 1860, to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Japenga.  In 1883 she was married to Peter Dykhuizen in their home country.  In 1884, she with their first born son and husband, left The Netherlands, and came across the Atlantic and made their settlement in Fulton, Illinois.  After a few years they moved to the vicinity of Morrison, where the remainder of her life was spent.  She was the youngest and last member of her family.

   To this union were born fourteen children.  They are: Jacob of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Anna (deceased wife of Will Akker), Henry of Morrison, Mrs. Cornielius Schaver (Elizabeth), of Albany, Ray of Fulton, Nellie (deceased), wife of Ben Diephuis, George, Will of Morrison, Elsie (deceased), wife of Claus Ottens, Mary of Washington, D. C., wife of Nathan Robinson, Mrs. Ella Decker, Mrs. Will Londo of Morrison, Mrs. Richard Hansen of Moline, and an infant son who died in infancy.

   She was also preceded in death by her husband who died November 28, 1917.
