Mrs. Arvid Dyrdahl of the South Wagner community received word this week of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Charles Knapp at Brooks, Ga., where she had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Herb Spaller.

Mrs. Knapp will be remembered by many as postmaster at First Creek for many years.  The Spallers are also former Phillips county residents.

Funeral services were held at Brooks with a grandson conducting the services and six grandsons serving as pallbearers.  The body was returned to Big Timber for burial by the side of her husband.

Mrs. Knapp is survived by six children, 21 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.  She was 90 years old.

Florence Knapp opened the first Post Office called First Creek.

The stage traveled from Regina to Sun Prairie and was left here.  Homesteaders

from the area came here to get their mail.
